City of Sails

Auckland, New Zealand

Finally, im here. Home at last. It was a long trip from PH to NZ. I warmed by butt down for 10 hours while trying to find a comfortable body angle to crash. Airplane food was okay, though its like over-cooked microwaved food, it was pretty okay. It was a smooth journey after all, since the important people i need to drop off to were all filipinos and one was ilongga. The immigration officer was i think a maori basing on his face, and was very polite enough to be tender on the questions. Also, the biosecurity officer was a real filipino and it was an advantage that he was there knowing that NZ's protocol on declaring goods and other things transported into their country, is very very strict. The ride was cooler with my lola around because she kept the boring plane ride laughable. She was a hilarious comedian all throughout the flight.

Sad thing though, i didn't get the chance to stroll around sydney's airport because of the minimal interval in both flights.

NZ at last. They have cute houses. They were like little doll simple houses. And I always forget to wear the seatbelt. Good thing I am always reminded, because I don't have $200 nor any NZD in my pocket to begin with.

Anyways, spent the whole evening washing so much dishes because of the welcoming party they threw for me and lola. I missed my siblings and both of my parents. They are getting older and its getting pretty obvious. This is an urgent reminder to start moving fast and get to work and buy them good creams that could take away those lines.

Ayways, more NZ stories to come. Ciao!

Continuing the Anne Saga

Saw this great great pictures of Anne Hathaway in the back issue of W magazine.
I must say i just love Anne and everything couture.

She exudes luxury in a very fashionable way.

I love love these shots.

Why is Anne Hathaway so darn ethereal?

She graces every red carpet event with such stunning elegance.
For some, she is the modern day Audrey Hepburn.
I adore her and the way she carries herself with her Versace gowns.
A sight to watch.

Art of Chindogu

While watching Martha Stewart (i honestly love her!), she featured this book about 101 Japanese Useless Inventions and I was a bit apalled by the measures these Japanese take to put convenience and solutions to everyday living.

Check it out:

for noodle eaters, so that their hair wont dip on their noodles

Tissue dispenser: this would come in handy when you have cold

This umbrella idea is quite clever but it will may u look like a wierd psycho.

go figure!

Now im turning japanese and im turning japanese! Hahaha!

Rock, Soul and Blues

Got a sick, busy stomach today so I wasnt able to report to work. Instead, I wasted my time lying around with my arms over my head because of the fun waxing session I had with him last night. Hahaha! My armpits are all red with torture. hahaha! (Thank you Shoti for being my patient waxer).

But apart from that, I was glad to catch the 51st Grammys! It was ok.. Katie Perry was a disappointment for me because it was like she gave halfway of what people expected her number would turn out to be. Her confidence wasn't there. Coldplay nabbed several awards along with Krauss and Li'l Wayne. Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift was together for the first time (Taylor Swift is actually beautiful especially in her video Love Story with Miley Cyrus' boyfriend). Jennifer Hudson was emotional during her performance. Paul McCartney was there and also performed. But the great numbers were by living music legends who performed with other modern artists. Stevie Wonder sang Burnin' Up with the Jonas Brothers but my favorite was Al Green who sang his classic hit Let's Stay Together Justin Timberlake and the Boys II Men (I missed them).

"I'm so in love with you

Whatever you want to do

Is all right with me

'Cause you make me

Feel so brand new

And I want to spend

My life with you"

I love love this song because it brings me back to the early days where music was rich of soul. Classic jazz days. This is why I was into Boys II Men back in the days cos' they have somewhat similar type of sound.

Some of my classic favorites: songs by Boys II Men, I Want You Back by the Jackson 5, songs by Stevie Wonder, Somebody to Love by the Queen, etc.

Confessions of a Blunt Achiever

Trying to catch up with the talented and gifted mankind is a lot of struggle for a gurl whose a mere blunt achiever and nothing else more. This becomes your distorted perception when you have the lowest of the low self esteem. Possessing that alluring confidence is like reaching for the stars. On several moments, I wonder to myself how other people manage to rise above all. Their stories are not at all fairy tales, but they have risen from all the adversities.

A lot of people believes in you, and you know well you possess that kind of extraordinariness, but can't seem to grasp that ambition at its full extent. You cram up when intimidated, pour your heart out over the work, and fail at the very last minute. You are multi-talented (u know that in your heart) but these talents are all scattered in different areas that you only become an average on these areas. You are unconcentrated. You become scared to fail again, to look foolish amidst your audience, to let down the people who expects greatness from you. So you curl up in a ball back to your humble shell, shy and scared.

What's left of you, is your endless imagination which can take you to different places, where there are no limits to deprive you of the things you really really want, where nobody can realistically judge you, where you worry less of other people and just have a time of your life. You often catch yourself dreaming of things, hopefully wishing one day, you'll get the guts to bloom back and just live like you had imagined your life would be. Fearless, kick-ass gurl who thinks more about the essentials in this temporary world and surprise her audience with incredible talent and personality.

A gurl can dream, and I dream to be great.

Immaculate scribbles and doodles

Its sunday and obviously to kill boredom, i flip page by page of other people's blog. I came across this one immaculate artist, and God, do I love his work soooo much. I'm really drawn in this type of art because its not the typical modern abstract paintings wer other people find as a product of a kindergarten art class. Truth be told, im also fascinated by those kind but im more in love with this part realistic-part caricature but in a more beautiful sense, work by igor+andre. This one particular piece i love. If had those talented hands... Im really into art and I draw occassionally. I sometyms surprise myself with a good piece, but I had my share of bad-drawing days. But Danny Roberts (author of the blog igor+andre) is wayyy out of my league. Im really fascinated with artists who could doodle effortlessly and radiate this kind of process into their artwork. I also envy those who have perfect mixing skills since i have that weakness wer im always having a hard time coming up with the colors i need. But just look at this guy's work.. perfect in a sense of shadows and hues yet effortless in his imperfect but beautiful outlines.

I praise u danny roberts.

Drapery

Somewhere in the land of make-believe, I dreamed of fitting on these romantic pieces. The drapes hanged on to my body like the perfect fit they are. The shapely skirtsuits, the Edwardian shoulders, and the glittery neckpiece, and i walk within the soft rose petals laid on my path.. and KABAAM! i slipped like a clumsy jerk. Thanks Givenchy for feeding my hungry dreaming soul.

Up for a match?

anybody hu wants to bet?

chicklit

My heart just fell for the heroine on these shopaholic series. For obvious reasons, i secretly thought of Becky Bloomwood as someone I could identify myself with. She's, in so many things, like what I think of my helpless attitude. She's undecisive (to the point of having two weddings), she's IMPULSIVE when it comes to buying things (i purchase things for the sake of it), finds satisfaction on merely having something new ( i wont elaborate more, hehe), clumsy, avid fan of white lies, blah, blah, and the list goes on.

But im yet to conquer my career greatness! someday, somehow.. hopefully!

the slacker

Just getting started, so i honestly don't have a clue on what to put here as a premier statement or entry on my so called "blog". Maybe, its in this part where I explain myself and all the other things i plan to do with this, but i know i dont need to explain to anybody my reasons coz i dont owe one any (oops, sounded kind of a pissed redneck). Anyways, im completely harmless.

I just want an outlet of the several out-of-the-blue thoughts hovering inside my head. Kinda like a bubble sketch. So basically, this is not for anyone cos' it wont do any good for them.

So.. This is it for now. Wee!

Ciao!
